INTERNET ACCESS

Wired Connections:

Each double occupancy apartment offers two plugs, one on each of the two opposite block walls. Each plug has a connection point for hooking up your TV to our 30 channel satellite TV (Dish Network), which is usually in the center wih two Ethernet connection for Internet connection above and below the TV hookup Port. Typically, there is a blue colored Internet port above the TV port and a white one below the TV port. In some rooms the TV port might not be in the middle, as shown in the photo below.

In most cases the the blue Internet port is the live port on each wall.

The second connector is there so that if the furniture arrangement in the apartment is laid out in such a way that two connections (one for each resident) need to be on the same wall, for instance because two desks are placed against that wall, then we can re-route the live connection from the wall that is not going to have a computer connected to it, to the wall that will have to accommodate both Internet connections. This will be done by using a special short Ethernet cable to connect the two Internet plugs on the unused side to each other which then causes the signal to be transferred to the normally unused lower internet connection on the opposite wall.
